The concept
EVALUA Development was founded in July 2006, born of a will to create a space devoted solely to the evaluation of development, intellectually and financially independent, that is both a research centre, a venue for services of evaluation studies and training, as well as strategic consulting in the area of human development.
EVALUA Development is a limited liability company that safeguards its financial independence as well as its ability to meet market needs.
The year 2016 marked the end of the first decade of Evalua Development. A new entity, Evalua Institute (founded in 2013), dedicated to the training and capacity building was set up. By the end of the tenth year Evalua & Development and Evalua Institute firm acquired recognition and credibility nationally and internationally through over 40 strategic assessment mandates in the areas of environment, youth employability and performance. On the other hand, during the years 2010-2016 a number of training, monitoring and evaluation activities was achieved in Morocco and abroad (Canada, Niger, Madagascar, Senegal, etc.).
As a matter of fact, with the launch of the new Development Plan in Morocco (2015-2020), Evalua Development and Evalua Institute wish to go further, targetting training and capacity building activities in the countries of the Maghreb and Africa region.
Activities
EVALUA Development is organized into five distinct and complementary activities:
A consultancy activity of an engineering and consulting firm in the area of monitoring and evaluation, intended :
- (i) to provide an independent and professional perspective on public action.
- (ii) to build together with the sponsor the monitoring and evaluation process on the basis of objective and transparent criteria .
- (iii) to support clients in improving the performance of their staff, their organizations and their programs.
A training and capacity building activity in analysis, monitoring and evaluation, through Evalua Institute, a dedicated entity, comprising: :
- (i) a professional evaluation training cycle
- (ii) a training cycle for Policy and development programs analysts.
- (iii) a management training cycle focused on Resulits based management (GRD) , and modular training, including the evaluation of public policies and programs, strategic environmental assessment and the retrospective assessment study of the impact, etc.
a self-funded activity of action-research in the area of development evaluation through modelling the issues of evaluation and developing new concepts and methodologies that are subject to communications and publications.
a monitoring activity, of several areas (from human rights to new information technologies, through territorial development) that fuels strategic thinking on human development and governance.
last and broadly speaking, Evalua Development provides constantly activities that promote development evaluation, through its participation in national, regional and international conferences dedicated to evaluation in the world, in its capacity as member of the Moroccan Association for Evaluation (AME), the African Evaluation Association (AfrEA), the International Development Evaluation Association (IDEAS), MENA Evaluators Network, etc.
